Orientation & Approach

I am an experienced professional who works collaboratively with clients, using    interventions from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including family systems, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapies, as well as existential and humanistic theories.  The specific interventions are determined by the client's level of readiness to change their current life circumstances. I place high value of the therapeutic bond between my client and myself.  It is this critical connection that engenders trust, which increases the probability that a client will make the changes they say they want to make.

Personal Comments

Life can be challenging, and there is wisdom in seeking assistance in getting back on track, in re-gaining your footing, in working with the pendulum swing to move toward moderation........in other words, a balance really does matter!

Being out of balance can manifest in:

  • self-sabotaging patterns and addictive behaviors;

  • thought patterns that only allow you to see limited options and choices;

  • a sense of disconnection from others, from your feelings, from yourself;

  • insufficient interpersonal boundary management;

  • loss of self by trying to please everyone else;

  • guilt, shame, hopelessness, intolerance, anger, judgment, loneliness; and

  • anxiety, depression, and low self-confidence.

I strive to provide a therapeutic environment that is honest, supportive, respectful, challenging and client-centered.  I work with clients to strengthen their belief that they have the courage to change their lives, that peace of mind and spirit can be achieved, and that engagement with oneself is time and energy well spent.  Internal realignment results in life changes that are positive, self-esteem enhancing, empowering and reality oriented.  It is an honor to work with my clients.
