Orientation & Approach

I work with adult individuals and groups to help them explore and determine therapy and life goals, create the meaning they want in their lives, identify challenges and difficulties and how to handle them, and take personal responsibility for their own healing and wellness.  In therapy, my goals are to help people learn how to live life more fully in a way that promotes emotional, social, spiritual, and physical health; accept and appreciate themselves and their lives; and realize how strong and healthy they truly are - even in the midst of stress, struggles, anxiety, depression, and/or unwanted thoughts, feelings, or powerful memories.

It’s important for people to feel safe and comfortable with their therapist so they can explore and experience their inner selves.  I offer a free initial consultation of up to 45 minutes for us to determine whether or not we will proceed with a therapeutic relationship.

Personal Comments

People often work on changing their thoughts and emotions to feel better.  However, our emotions and thoughts can be important sources of information that can be used to enrich our lives, as long as we allow ourselves to explore and accept them.  By accepting ALL of our thoughts and feelings, we can know and understand ourselves better and live our lives more fully.  We spend less energy trying to fight a part of ourselves.  We then have more capacity to examine and change those aspects of our lives that truly can be changed.
