Orientation & Approach
| My background training was heavily concentrated in Object
Relations theory with a lesser emphasis on Feminist Therapy theory. I continue to
use that as an overall framework but my approach is an active collaborative model where
the client and I are fully engaged in identifying the issues and then creating options for
dealing with them. |
Personal Comments
| I have been a licensed Psychologist for over 10 years
in Oregon. I have a general clinical practice with experience focusing on
individuals. I have done some work with couples, but that is not my main focus.
Over the years I have concentrated on working with people experiencing depression
and issues of trauma. Also, I have worked with individuals who want to enhance their
personal performance either personally or professionally. I have worked with
corporations helping their workers become more productive. The role of the Psychologist in private practice is undergoing tremendous
change. However, it is still my belief that everyone can benefit from working with
someone to identify self-defeating patterns and changing them. Therapy does not
need to be mysterious or scary. Rather it can be an opportunity to learn about
oneself in a safe and supportive environment. |
